A

Active – The status of a guide which has been made available to users

Applications – An application is a unique web-based environment. The end users of these applications are the consumers of JumpSeat trainings. Applications are stored as tiles on the homepage and can be secured by role-based permissions.Application Navigation Bar

App Defaults – The default style settings for guide authoring in the JumpSeat Console. These can be updated in the Configuration area of JumpSeat Home.

Administrator – A user with login credentials to JumpSeat Home who can manage other users, applications and guides.

Auto Start – The setting which programs a guide to begin automatically the next time a user logs into the hosted application.

Branching – The functionality to embed a secondary guide into the tooltip of another guide, clicking the link of the “branched” guide will launch it.

Console (JumpSeat Console) – The panel on the right side of the hosted application, identified by the blue paper airplane tab, which contains the guide library and guide authoring areas. 

Configuration – The area within JumpSeat Home where Dynamic URLs and Default App Settings can be managed.

Delay Find – The setting available to add 1-5 second(s) delay to the time that the tooltip appears on the page. This allows for slow-loading pages to completely load before the tooltip appears.

Dashboard – The area in JumpSeat Home where user, guide, and application reports are available.

Element Picker – The functionality, as indicated by a blue dotted outline, when adding a step to a guide which allows the guide author to select an element on the page to be referenced by the tooltip.

Guide – A series of tooltips, or steps, which guide the user through completing a task within the application, or simply provides information about a feature. Besides this standard guide type, we also offer Wayfinder and Notification guide types.

Guide Author – A JumpSeat user with login credentials to JumpSeat Home who can build JumpSeat guide content.

Hosted Application – The application for which JumpSeat will be providing digital learning support. The

JumpSeat Home – The unique JumpSeat instance where applications, users, guides are managed.

Languages – The functionality available in JumpSeat to provide guide copy text in alternative languages, based on the default language setting of the end user’s browser. 

Locator – The line of code used to identify the object in the application which has been tagged as the element of reference for a tooltip. This can be edited in the location tab of the

Pathway – The optional arrangement of guides which tell the viewer how to complete a series tasks within the application. These can be arranged in whatever way works best for your company, for example, by business process or by role.

Roles – A group of users who require similar permissions within the application. By default, JumpSeat comes with Administrator and Guest roles. You can optionally add other roles to tailor the learning curriculum for different user groups.
