Alternate translated text can be added to tooltips in your guides. The correct language for the user will be activated based on the default language of their browser.
To add tooltip copy in multiple languages:
- Navigate to the Guides section in JumpSeat Home for the chosen application
- Find the guide you want to create language options for
- Click the ‘Languages’ button to the right of the guide name
- The Languages set up page defaults to the English text for the guide name, description and copy for each step.
- Use the dropdown menu at the top of the page to select what language you would like to create copy for.
- The table will be greyed out, meaning that you have not yet created copy for this language option.
- Click “Edit” next to the step you would like you provide translation for
- Type the copy in the selected language – We do not provide the actual translation services.
- Click Save
- Repeat for each step of the guide, and for each language you want to offer.
The languages area also provides an export feature to Excel, where you can quickly edit guide copy. This is an alternative to editing guide copy direct in the JumpSeat console. To export guide copy:
- Navigate to the Guides section in JumpSeat for the chosen application
- Find the guide whose copy you want to export
- Click the ‘Languages’ button to the right of the guide name
- The Languages set up page defaults to the English text for the guide name, description and copy for each step.
- Use the dropdown menu at the top of the page to select what language copy you would like to export
- Click the ‘Export Selected’ button at the top of the page. The .xlsx file will download to your computer.
- Make the copy changes directly within the Excel.
To re-import your Excel copy file:
- Navigate to the Guides section in JumpSeat for the chosen application
- Find the guide whose copy you want to export
- Click the ‘Languages’ button to the right of the guide name
- The Languages set up page defaults to the English text for the guide name, description and copy for each step.
- Use the dropdown menu at the top of the page to select what language copy you would like to import.
- Click the ‘Import Language File’ button at the top right corner of the page.
- Browse and select the .xlsx file to import. This must be in the format which you have previously exported from this Languages page.
- Click Import and the copy will update.
